About

The independent guide to Mayfair.

Founded in 2024 to do one thing properly - cover the venues, openings, and ideas that define Mayfair, London W1, the way they deserve to be covered.

Why we exist

Mayfair was being written about everywhere - and well, almost nowhere.

The London guides treat it as a footnote between Soho and Notting Hill. The luxury monthlies use it as set dressing. The aggregator sites scrape Tripadvisor and call it journalism. None of them give the neighbourhood the attention its 0.5 square miles actually warrant - the new Michelin star on the corner of Mount Street, the chef quietly moving from Claridge’s to the Connaught, the third-generation family business closing after eighty years.

OnlyMayfair is what we wanted to read and couldn’t find. We publish daily, cover what matters, and recommend only what we’d send a friend.

What we cover

Eight beats, one postcode.

Food & Drink

Michelin-starred kitchens, the brasseries that have outlasted the trend cycles, and the chefs moving between them.

Hotels

Claridge’s, the Connaught, the Dorchester, Brown’s. The rivalries, the residencies, the new openings on Park Lane.

Nightlife

Annabel’s, 5 Hertford Street, the Arts Club. Membership lists, late licences, room policies.

Fashion

Bond Street flagships, Mount Street tailors, the Burlington Arcade, and the brands quietly choosing Mayfair over Knightsbridge.

Art

Cork Street, Hauser & Wirth, Gagosian, the National Gallery up the road. Openings, fairs, and what to actually go and see.

Culture

The Royal Academy, London Watch Week, Frieze, Mayfair Art Weekend - the appointments worth marking in the diary.

Wellness

The hotel spas, the new Park Lane clubs, the niche treatments worth the booking dance.

Events

The seasonal calendar - what’s on this week, this month, this quarter - distilled for adults who already have enough invitations.

How we work

Our editorial standards.

We pay our own way

Our reviewers eat, drink, and stay anonymously and we cover the bill. We do not accept free meals, complimentary stays, or press junkets in exchange for coverage.

Partnerships are transparent

Venues can subscribe to paid listing tiers that affect placement and badging on the directory - never editorial selection or article content. A Platinum Partner badge means they pay for visibility, not for the opinion we publish about them.

We correct things

When we get something wrong, we update the article, note the correction, and email the editor. Email info@onlymayfair.com with any factual issue.

AI is a tool, not a byline

We use AI to help us read every press release, draft article skeletons, and surface stories worth our editors’ time. Every article is edited before it goes live. The judgement, the selection, and the responsibility for the words are ours.

Behind the publication

Independent. London-based.

OnlyMayfair is published by Bloodstone Ltd, a London-based editorial company. No private equity, no media-group masthead, no advertorial network. Just a small team that lives, eats, and works in W1.
