Dover Street Market, the Mayfair retailer on Dover Street, W1, has released its own version of the New Balance FuelCell SuperComp Elite v5, timed for the London Marathon on Sunday 26 April, Sneaker Freaker reports.

The trainer

The collaboration keeps to the store's usual look, with the whole shoe finished in black. Sneaker Freaker says there is some 3M detailing on the "N" logo, while Dover Street Market branding is kept light, appearing only on the left tongue and the right insole.

Underfoot is a stack of FuelCell cushioning with a carbon fibre plate. The performance running shoe first appeared on the feet of British Olympic gold medallist Alex Yee at last year's race, according to Sneaker Freaker.

The apparel

Dover Street Market and New Balance have also made a co-branded apparel collection. It includes a Race Day Ultra Light t-shirt and split shorts.

Price and availability

The London Marathon starts from Greenwich Park this Sunday, which is the hook for the release. Sneaker Freaker notes that marathon winners typically finish in neon-coloured trainers, so an all-black pair is an unusual choice for race day.
