Hanover Square, in the heart of Mayfair, is a good place to start a walk through W1 if you are interested in contemporary art. Several galleries sit on or beside the square, alongside a few professional services firms. Here is who is where.

Galleries

  • Pace London, 5 Hanover Square, London W1S 1HQ. A contemporary art gallery representing artists and estates of the 20th and 21st centuries, with a London space on Hanover Square.
  • Unit London, 3 Hanover Square, Mayfair, London W1S 1HD. A contemporary art gallery on the square, founded on the belief that art should be for everyone.
  • Almine Rech London, 11 St George Street, Hanover Square, London W1S 2FD. The London space of the contemporary art gallery Almine Rech, on St George Street by Hanover Square.

Law and finance

  • Thirsk Winton LLP, 24 Hanover Square, Mayfair, London W1S 1JD. A law firm providing commercial and private client legal services, including leasehold enfranchisement, dispute resolution and international notarial services.
  • Brown Advisory, 18 Hanover Square, London W1S 1JY. A wealth manager providing investment management and strategic advice to individuals, families, charities and institutions.

Planning a visit

The three galleries are close enough together that they can be taken in on a single stroll: Pace and Unit are at numbers 5 and 3 on the square itself, while Almine Rech is round the corner on St George Street. The law firm and the wealth manager are at numbers 24 and 18 on the square, so anyone visiting for business will find them within the same short stretch of Mayfair.
