Lilli by Akira Back, the restaurant at the Montcalm Mayfair, in London W1, has unveiled a series of new menus as it approaches its first anniversary this May, Luxurious Magazine reports. It opened in the spring of 2025 as part of the hotel's two-year restoration, and Head Chef Roger Hutchinson and his team are behind the new dishes.

British ingredients, Japanese craft

Akira Back's global portfolio now spans twenty-seven restaurants. At Lilli, the cooking pairs British ingredients with Japanese technique. The menu includes:

  • The AB Tuna Pizza, with a crisp base, tuna, umami aioli and white truffle.
  • Jidori Chicken with balsamic teriyaki and potato purée.
  • Plant-led dishes including Eggplant Miso and Garden Wellington.
  • A weekend Roast Menu featuring Grass-Fed Beef Wellington.

Brunch from 11 am

Brunch is served daily from 11 am. Dishes include a Kimchi Shakshuka with baked St. Ewe eggs, Teriyaki Beef Sliders and a Grilled Avocado with Togarashi and Ponzu. The restaurant suggests pairing the avocado with its Gochujang Bloody Mary.

Into the Garden afternoon tea

The "Into the Garden" Afternoon Tea is inspired by Constance Spry, who believed in the union of food and flowers. It features pastries and sandwiches, including coronation chicken, presented as miniature landscapes. Teas come in partnership with Camellia's Tea House, from Milky Oolong and Jasmine Pearls to Darjeeling Goomtee Estate.

The bar

Lilli's Bar takes its cue from England's Georgian gardens, with cocktails that move through the seasons from spring sakura and elderflower to autumn fruits. Two examples are the Blossom Americano, made with gin, sakura vermouth and honeyed citrus, and the Neroli Sour, which combines The Lakes The One with kumquat and lime. There are also alcohol-free options, such as the Holloway with Everleaf Mountain, lavender and Saicho Jasmine.

Luxurious Magazine links the restaurant to the Montcalm Collection's guiding principle of "Sensitive Luxury".
