Mayfair, London W1 has a new Greek restaurant. Fenix opened in March 2026 at Stratton House, 80 Piccadilly, and is the London debut of a concept that first opened in Manchester in 2023. Luxury Lifestyle Magazine reviewed it, and this is what it reported.

The group behind it

Fenix belongs to Permanently Unique Group, the restaurant company shaped by brothers Adam and Drew Jones. The group also runs Tattu, which operates in five UK cities and has a Dubai site, and Louis in Manchester, an Italian American supper club.

The room

The restaurant sits behind the 1920s Portland stone façade of Stratton House, a short walk from Green Park station. Outside, black awnings and terracotta urns planted with olive trees frame the entrance.

Studio WYZE designed the interior, which Luxury Lifestyle Magazine described as Mykonian in feel. It uses terracotta, ivory and dusky rose tones, sculptural archways, timber lattice screens and pillars wrapped in nautical rope. A large olive tree rises from a circular seating area, and the dining room is lit by chandeliers of golden tassels.

The Nest Bar has a counter decorated with sculpted phoenix feathers. Beyond it, an open kitchen is built around a central live fire grill.

The food

Head chef Zisis Giannouras has Mykonian heritage and has worked at Kensho, Kiku and Hytrain. His menu is built for sharing and draws on Japanese, Peruvian and French cooking. The wine list focuses on Greece alongside international labels.

Dishes mentioned in the review include:

  • Homemade pitta with spicy feta dip, and aubergine with feta ice cream
  • Mykonian salad with feta and thyme rusks
  • King crab truffle salad with white and black truffle
  • Spicy sea bass carpaccio with mango and aji panca
  • Spicy meatballs with tomato salsa and coriander yoghurt
  • Moussaka made with short rib, aubergine and graviera cheese
  • Wagyu stifado with a cumin potato emulsion
  • Langoustine and feta orzo
  • Frozen Greek yoghurt with candied walnuts, and loukoumades with toppings

Sides included crispy potato chips with graviera cheese cream, and hispi cabbage in lemon butter and thyme.

The drinks

Head of beverage development Will Meredith created a cocktail list inspired by the five elemental forces of ancient Greek mythology. The reviewer singled out Medusa's Curse from the Earth collection, made with Tanqueray No. 10, peach and sherry and served in a glass with tentacle-like tendrils. The Olive Oil Dirty Martini from the Water collection uses olive oil infused Tanqueray No. 10, a vermouth blend and caper.

Wines served with the meal included a Karavitakis Vilana Vidiano from Crete, Minuty Prestige rosé from Provence and Laurent Perrier Héritage Champagne.

The verdict

Luxury Lifestyle Magazine concluded that the kitchen delivers on substance as well as style, and that Fenix offers a lively alternative to more formal Mayfair dining.

Fenix is at Stratton House, 80 Piccadilly, London W1J 8HX. The phone number is 0203 778 1986.
