Novikov Restaurant & Bar is bringing its Christmas Market back to Mayfair Place, just off Berkeley Street in Mayfair, London W1, for an eleventh year. It runs from Thursday 26 to Saturday 28 November, for three days only, and the venue turns the space into a snow-covered winter village.
The practical details
- Open 11am to 9pm daily, with free entry and no bookings. Early arrival is recommended.
- Pay as you go, or buy market vouchers at either end of the market for quicker service at the stands.
- Santa is there daily from 11am, free of charge.
- His live reindeer visit on Saturday 28 November from 1pm to 3pm, also free.
What is on the menu
Novikov's Italian and Asian kitchens move outdoors from 50A Berkeley Street. The Italian side serves pasta finished to order in a whole wheel of Parmesan, alongside slow-roasted porchetta. The Asian kitchen offers lobster rolls, its Rock Shrimp Tempura and truffle chips. A Wagyu beef burger also joins the market menu.
The raw bar is the centrepiece. A whole tuna is carved by hand in front of guests and served as sashimi and nigiri, with oysters and caviar. Cheese raclette returns after popular demand last year, scraped straight from the wheel and served with a selection of fine cheeses. The pastry stand finishes things off with Novikov's Basque cheesecake, churros and doughnuts.
Champagne, mulled wine and music
The Louis Roederer Champagne Ice Bar is open daily. Novikov's signature mulled wine is also on offer, and every stand pours its own cocktail built around a single spirit. The market partners are Grey Goose, Diageo, Anna Dutch, Asahi and Louis Roederer.
Roaming musicians play from 11am until 6pm each day. Carol singers perform from 3.30pm to 4.30pm on Thursday and Friday, and from 2pm to 3pm on Saturday. From 6pm to 9pm, Novikov's resident DJs Sally K and Spencer take over.
